When Creator Lane is the better pick

  • Price. Creator Lane Pro is ₹199 a month plus GST, or ₹1,500 a year plus GST. theZio Pro is ₹499 a month, or ₹399 a month billed yearly. On price alone, Creator Lane wins by a wide margin.
  • No DM count on Free. Creator Lane's free plan has unlimited DMs inside its 2 automations. theZio Free counts DMs against a monthly allowance, so one very viral Reel can use it up.
  • Cheaper selling and bookings. Creator Lane sells digital products and 1:1 bookings from Pro at ₹199 a month plus GST, with a 5% fee. theZio's selling tools need Max Pro at ₹899 a month and do not take bookings.
  • Several accounts on Pro. Creator Lane Pro covers up to 3 Instagram accounts. theZio Pro covers one account and includes 2 team seats for a manager or agency; agencies with many accounts write to us.
  • Phone capture and extras. Creator Lane can ask for a phone number as well as an email in the DM, and adds a media kit, a daily account health check and an MCP server for Claude.

When theZio fits better

  • Old comments. theZio can answer comments that came in before you switched an automation on: the last 24 hours on every plan, and all old comments on Pro. Where Instagram no longer allows a DM (after 7 days), theZio posts a public reply instead. We did not find this on Creator Lane's site.
  • More automations on Free. Creator Lane Free allows 2 live automations. theZio Free has no cap on how many automations you run; the limit is the monthly DM allowance.
  • A follow step that still delivers. theZio's Ask For Follow invites the fan to follow you in the DM, and the freebie arrives either way. Holding the link until a fan follows can clash with Meta's spam policy.
  • Smart match on Pro. theZio can catch typos and variations of your keyword with AI intent matching, so a fan who writes the word slightly wrong still gets the DM.
  • Brand deal inbox on Pro. theZio flags collab and sponsorship enquiries that arrive in comments and DMs, and lays each one out as a deal card with a suggested reply.
  • "Any comment on this post" on Pro. One post can answer every real comment, not just a keyword, while emoji, tags and spam are skipped.
  • One automation, several freebies. Each keyword of one theZio automation can deliver its own product or link, with the same message.
  • Courses and a 0% fee for now. On Max Pro, theZio sells courses with video, live sessions and certificates next to your products, and takes 0% of sales until it gives notice. Creator Lane lists a 5% fee on Pro and 10% on Free.

How to switch without double DMs

  1. List what is live on Creator Lane. Note each post, keyword, the DM text and the link or product it sends. Keep bookings there, since theZio does not take them. Products, courses and story automations can move to theZio.
  2. Create a free theZio account and connect Instagram through Instagram Login. You need a professional (Business or Creator) account.
  3. Pause the Creator Lane automation for one post. Two tools watching the same post would send a fan two DMs for one comment.
  4. Recreate it in theZio with the same post, keywords and DM. Upload a free file as a product, and add email capture or a follow invite if you want them.
  5. Pick "Which comments?" if you want theZio to also answer comments from the last 24 hours.
  6. Test with a second Instagram account. Comment the keyword and check that exactly one DM arrives with the right link.
  7. Move the rest one post at a time. If Creator Lane still runs your store, leave it connected, never point both tools at the same post, and turn off its story automations once theZio answers your Stories.

Frequently asked questions

Is Creator Lane cheaper than theZio?

Yes. Creator Lane Pro is ₹199 a month plus GST, or ₹1,500 a year plus GST, according to its pricing page. theZio Pro is ₹499 a month, or ₹399 a month billed yearly. Prices change, so check both pricing pages. The question is whether you need what theZio adds: old-comment replies, Smart match, the brand deal inbox and unlimited automations on Free.

Which free plan is better?

It depends on how you post. Creator Lane Free gives 2 live automations with unlimited DMs inside each, which suits one or two big Reels at a time. theZio Free gives up to 1,000 DMs a month with no cap on automations, email capture, a follow invite and up to 3 digital products, which suits many posts with steady comments.

Can theZio sell my course or take bookings like Creator Lane?

Courses, yes; bookings, no. On Max Pro at ₹899 a month, theZio sells digital products and courses from your Link in bio page, fans pay through Razorpay, and theZio pays you by bank transfer every Monday. The theZio fee is 0% until notice, then 5% all-in. For 1:1 calls, Creator Lane covers bookings.

Does theZio reply to Instagram story replies?

Yes. A fan replies to any of your Stories with your keyword and theZio sends the DM with your link, file or image, plus email capture or a follow invite if you switch them on. One DM per fan per Story. Keyword replies work on every plan, including Free. Answering every Story reply without a keyword, and a thank-you DM when a fan tags you in their Story, are on Pro. Creator Lane supports story replies too, so pick one tool for your Stories; two tools answering the same Story means a fan gets two DMs.

Are both tools safe for my Instagram account?

Both use the official Instagram API, so you sign in through Meta's own screen and never share your password. Keep the DM useful and on-topic, avoid making the freebie depend on a follow, and let the tool pace sends within Instagram's limits.
