What you can use it for
- Show everyone scrolling the comments that the freebie is real
- Reach fans whose comments are older than 7 days, when a DM is no longer allowed
- Add social proof and replies to your Reel's comment count
How to set it up
- Open the automation. In Automations, open an automation or start a new one.
- Edit the replies. In Reply on the comment, edit the three starter wordings or tap + Add another reply.
- Save. Tap Save. Each keyword comment now gets one of your replies, picked at random.
Tips to get more from it
- Write 3 to 5 different wordings. Rotation keeps the thread natural.
- Keep replies short and point to the DM: "Check your DMs" beats a long sentence.
- Never put a link in a public reply; the DM is where the link goes.
Good to know
- Up to 10 different reply wordings per automation.
- Public replies are paced to at most 60 per post per hour, so a viral thread never looks like spam. Replies over the cap are held back and shown in Analytics.
- Leave the replies empty to send the DM only.
Questions
Can I send only the public reply and no DM?
The DM is the main action, but for comments older than 7 days Instagram no longer allows a DM, so theZio sends just your public reply there.
Will the same reply show on every comment?
No. Add up to 10 wordings and each comment gets one at random.
